Cafe Couch visits Rocky Bay and Like I always say -First Impressions on a Company , Resort or Product starts with the Front Office / Social or Telephonic Communication.
Rocky Bay has Annien and Selina .Efficient , Professional and Super Friendly . Accommodation in a 7 sleeper log cabin at the Rocky Bay resort sorted!!
On arrival keys were waiting with the friendly security guard . I have never seen such a full Lodge / Caravan /Log Cabin Resort! I was super amazed by the organization and how Caravaners are so sorted! Big screen Tv’s , ice-machines , deep freezers all in their space… Ablutions are scattered through out the park for the Holiday Makers and are clean . Kids riding their bikes up and down the paths and roads , while cars drive slowly.
Our log Cabin F10 was clean ,fridge on and even had fans in every room and main aircon in the lounge .DSTV available if you need. Bath Towels available and a lady did come midday to wash dishes and make the beds if needed . The beds and linen were clean (which is a biggie in my books), and super comfy!
1 Double Bedroom , 2 single beds in room 2 and then in the loft up some steep stairs , 3 single beds! An outdoor shower with hot water and indoor bath and toilet!One thing I suggest is bring bottle water for the kettle as found the tap water a strange taste when having tea!
It definitely is a kids paradise – there were kids everywhere making friends , swimming in the pool (wear googles as the chlorine is quite strong) , playing table tennis and pool in the Games Rooms.
1 main pool and a small kiddies pool . Volley ball net and jungle gym area.

Its a good idea to know the tides , because snorkeling in the many rock pools was a big hit. There is a swimming area with life guards on duty as well.
Our boys were busy 24/7 doing kids stuff! There were no Xboxes , Play-stations or Social Media Gadgets! Just outdoor fun.
A few Kites, when it was windy and cricket with the dads on the beach!
The little store in the Resort sold nets for the kids R28 to catch fish with , Sweets and odds and ends! The Gumballs were a big hit! It was open daily from 8-6pm ..Not far from the Rocky Bay is Croc World! A MUST – Henry the 119 year old Croc with 6 wives and his story of his journey from Botswana due to him eating small children in the village nearby!
Stunning Birds , loads of Crocs and daily shows for the kids – A Snake Show and Feeding the Crocs were a big hit!!I will definitely be bringing the family back to Rocky Bay , for me it reminded me of holidays with the family , bringing the basics , no social media gadgets , evening braai’s , kids running everywhere , sun filled beach days , snorkeling in the rock pools , friendly ,happy people on Holiday.
